Xenia

I am from Houston, Texas and often go by "Xenia" in Greece, and "Polly" in the states being that it is hard for some to pronounce. I have a multitude of medias to express my artistic talents including hand crafted jewelry, B/W & color photography, pyrographic creations, polymer clay art & hand coded HTML & CSS web design.

As a child I was always drawn to the arts and gemstones. I would pick up pretty pebbles and stones from anywhere and run to show Mom the beatiful shining speciman. I always had some project going whether it was a necklace for Mom or a one-of-a-kind birthday gift. I began to love the fact that what I was giving was specifically for that person and could not be bought at the local Wal-Mart. Gradually, jewelry fever circulated and Designs & Imaging By Xenia was born in 2001. By day I worked designing ads and street maps for cities and businesses around the Southeastern US and by night I beaded my heart out. Slowly, my talents seemed to spread into other realms of articulation and in February 2005 I quit my job to follow my artistic path and take the business head-on and full-time.

As of now I have unveiled a new line of handcrafted jewelry designs in Maxmillian Hair located on Center Street in Deer Park and The Great Frame Up located in the Houston Memorial area. I also work with Gallery 19 in the Historical Heights area of Houston to help promote local artists and gain exposure within Houston's art crowd and I am currently in charge of the monthly Artropolis Newsletter. You can always catch me at various festivals and venues around town including the famous Last Concert Cafe'.
