Where to begin...
I am a native Texan by birth although I never lived here until 1987. I have also lived in New Mexico (twice), Louisiana (twice), Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
I love late fall, winter, cold, wind, sleet, snow, ice, rain, fireplaces, grey skies and grey eyes.
My favorite food is fried shrimp, but that's now limited after my heart surgery. I don't drink except for an occasional glass of absinthe (the real stuff from France). My biggest vice is Starbucks coffee.
I am single and have returned to the Northern Frontier, where I live in a really cool garage apartment in downtown Humble.
I was an original member of The Diversionists, an art group founded in 2004, along with Michael-Ann Belin, Laura Hodges, Suzanne Delorme, Rachel Green and Catherine Hangen. I have been a Post-Diversionist since January, 2006. My fellow Post-Diversionists are Suzanne Delorme, Sorange Castillo, Aimi Dunn, Susan Goettsche, Mitch Cohen, Michael-Ann Belin (on sabbatical), Lilibeth Andre, Victoria Lewelling, Julie Zarate, Jill Griffith, Lorena Fernandez, Sue Donaldson and Lacey Crawford.
I enjoy the art of the Impressionists, Post-Impressionists, Pre-Raphaelites, Fauvists, Nabis and Barbizon School. My favorite individual artists are Edouard Manet, Vincent van Gogh, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Maxfield Parrish, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Andrew Wyeth, Patrick Nagel, Peter Max, Doug West and Henri Matisse.
Currently, I paint landscapes although I have begun painting people now. Who knows, I may paint you.
My favorite colors are the cadmium pigments. My preferred brand of pastel is Sennelier and my preferred brands of paint are Sennelier and Lefranc & Bourgeois. My preferred brushes are Isabey. However, times being what they are, I use whatever I can.
I do accept commissions and try to be in as many shows as I can afford the entry fees for.
