David Weaver

Nearly all of my art pieces are some type of metaphoric expression of the real world, illustrating a newfound respect and compassion for nature and its creatures. My beliefs have fueled my art, allowing me to depict the merging of all life into one communal existence.

In one series of drawings, I illustrate the concept of harmony, in which the spiritual, physical, animal and human world coexists peacefully. Other drawings address the abuse inflicted by humans on the world around them. One example of this subject matter would be the work entitled "Crying Fish," which explores the mistreatment of the earth’s water resources. Another piece titled "Bleeding Woman" describes the aspect of human behavior in which a person knows what is happening and knows how he can improve the situation, yet does nothing.

In future artwork, I hope to explore my subconscious mind and how it relates to the spiritual and physical world. I wish to continue experimenting with the vast array of mediums and methods available to artists. I hope to improve and expand my knowledge, so that I will be able to illustrate and share my visions, dreams and ideas with others.
