I am an Artist4Peace and last year around November I was browsing Craigslist.org for opportunities. A posting caught my attention and I replyed to a request for a houston texas black artist from craigslist.org. It was the 11th hour,however,not to be deterred,I submitted my work to the NY firm and was mystically selected by GMC to create a TRUCK for Texas-Houston.

I was loaned a 2005 Yukon that I transformed to appeal to the creative child in all of us AND to acknowlege the contributions of African Americans pioneering efforts in Agriculture,Ranching and Peace.I consider it a personal tribute to my Father and Mother,Annie and Eristus Sams.

Through this project...GMC/Trucks for Texas, I was featured in The Houston Chronicle & on Fox 26 TV, The MLK Black Heritage Parade, The Houston Auto Show,The Houston International Art Festival,The Houston Art Car Parade and numerous paper and cyber publications.

Now in this December's Texas Monthly(w/ Willie Nelson on the cover) I have a full page with a large color photo of my GMC Truck and a write up that speaks of my passion...Creating Houstons 1st Childrens Cultural Center for Peace.( an enviroment for creative individual discovery and collabrative learning through their expression with art).
