y Good Things Happen To Me, 2004, Acrylic and caulk on canvas. A pensive angel answers a prayer for protection with bubbles of hope. I painted this to turn my worries and fears into a positive art piece that brings about feelings of safety and comfort. The chant "Only good things happen to me" is written all over the surface of the painting.

Changed lines 39-41 from:

Young ladies dress in bright showy dresses for summer market day. A youngster singles out a familiar face and she responds, briefly albeit not whole-heartedly. The other ladies, unimpressed, retain their dignity and their poses.

to:

The Listmaker, 2005, Marker on dishtowel over acrylic on canvas. The good hostess strives for perfection as she writes her endless lists of things to do. The cold profile of a stressed out woman stares out from a dishtowel, which covers over a painting of a 50's housewife in a pink dress and pearls. She is trying too hard to be the perfect traditional homemaker, and has lost sight of what truly makes a home.

Changed lines 18-20 from:

This piece pays homage to the musicians of the Gulf Coast silenced by the devastation from Hurricane Katrina. While the trumpeter rests his head on is knee in somber contemplation, he does not set the horn aside because he will play again once his city returns.

to:

Paper Heart, 2004, Acrylic on vintage apron over cabinet door. A young woman buttons her delicate silk blouse against a backdrop of an apron stretched over a kitchen cabinet door. This piece illustrates the delicate balance of filling a traditional domestic women's role while maintaining one's own youthful, sensual identity. I painted this as I was struggling to take over this role from the women who came before me and to make it my own.

Changed lines 23-24 from:

The pure joy of jazz is depicted by three musicians as they jointly celebrate their art in song. Three as one is emphasized and your ears betray you as you hear just one marvelous instrument.

to:

Lilly, 2005, Acrylic on antique tablecloth. I painted this late at night as I embraced the quiet stillness all around me. I tried to capture the spirit of the noble silence and solitude of being up late and enjoying the night. The pale, luminous face of the Night Queen emerges from a richly textured darkness. This beauty is as mysterious as the moon, and is crowned with gold and flowers.

Changed line 29 from:

Eve drifts off in slumber while the scent of roses recalls a past love. The roses are both a striking visual contrast to her simplicity and a symbolic catalyst for her beautiful dream of passion.

to:

The Yellow Wallpaper, 2005, Acrylic and latex house paint on canvas. This painting is based on the short story by Charlotte Perkins Gillmore published at the turn of the century. I painted this because I could relate to the main character of the story when I would have to spend a lot of time taking care of my babies in the bed, staring at the wall scrutinizing the patterns in the stucco while I got them to sleep.

Changed line 34 from:

J City depicts the bravado of the jazzman during a raucous jam session. The energy from their music feeds their psyche and they grow larger than life and command the entire metropolis to swing.
